How to Make a Nice-a Pasta: Penne alla Vodka
1. Ingredients
Gather the ingredients
- 3 tbsp Unsalted Butter
- 2 shallots, chopped
- 3 cloves of garlic, chopped
- 1/2 c tomato paste
- 3 tsp crushed red pepper
- 2 tbsp vodka
- 1 lb Penne pasta
- 1/2 c heavy whipping cream
- 1 c Parmesean, shredded
- Fresh basil
- Salt
2. Salt & Boil
Salt & boil water- wait until water boils, then add pasta, al dente around 11 mins.- reserve pasta water.
3. Chop
Chop up shallots & garlic.
4. Put it into the pan
Melt butter in pan in medium heat- add shallots & garlic and cook about 5 mins. stiring occasionally.
5. Add tomato paste and crushed red pepper
Add tomato paste & red pepper, darken shallots about 5 mins.
6. Add Vodka
Add vodka, scrape up browned bits from the bottom of the pan, remove from heat until pasta is done.
7. Add cream and pasta water
Add cream and pasta water, return to heat.
8. Add Parmesean
Add Parmesean- stir until melted
9. Combine
Remove from heat-Combine with pasta, add more Parmesean and pasta water until consistency is correct.
10. Enjoy!
Serve and enjoy! Add fresh basil.
